About US

Charted under state law, a public housing authority is a not-for-profit public corporation. A housing authority is an independent organization with a relationship to federal, state, and local governments; however, it is not a part of any governmental body. This organizational structure allows housing authorities to work in conjunction with local governments and agencies to develop long-term housing strategies for communities.

The Housing Authority of the City of Canton only has Public Housing and doesn't administer the Housing Choice Voucher Program. If you have a voucher and would like to port to Canton, Georgia please call the Department of Community Affairs at 404-679-4915 or visit their website at http://www.dca.state.ga.us/ . The Housing Authority of the City of Canton doesn't provide emergency housing. We have three different communities which are; Jefferson Circle, Shipp Street, and Oakside Drive totaling 145 units.
